Infiniti Image Search Takeover
People live their lives in search bars. Want to see the latest viral video people are talking about? Just Google it. Want to know how to make your own toothpaste? Spell a word? Translate a sentence? Search for a new car? Google it. Since people spend so much time in the search bar, Infiniti is going to use it in a whole new way.
We’re going to create an image search takeover so when people search certain words related to the Q50 such as powerful, intuitive, supercharged, unleashed, advanced, etc. they will see the normal images that would come up with these search words but we will augment these results with beauty shots of the Q50 (and other things related to whatever we want to feature) as well as words that relate to the Q50 and those that help dimensionalize our tagline “You. More Powerful.” So the effect is a “collage ad” that displays our tag line and Q50 car shots integrated with real images normally associated with the search words.
How it works.
When someone clicks on a regular image associated with the search word, the images opens larger as it normally would. When they click on one of our imbedded images or words, they are taken to a microsite that speaks to that specific feature.
For example, if they click on any of the words “You. More Exhilarated” or a car shot or an illustration of our direct adaptive steering axel, you would be taken to the microsite page that talks about Direct Adaptive Steering. If you click on any word of “You. More Alert” you get taken to the page that illustrates the benefit of the Safety Shield technology.
We could do something similar with a video search even though we don’t see a page of thumbnails. Perhaps we can have the first five videos that come up for “powerful.”
Search words.
The beauty of this is we can do this for as many words as we want. We can stick to the core words associated with the car in a big way:
Informed, advanced, adventurous , intuitive, nimble, alert, elevated, prescient, unleashed, connected, accelerated, integrated, sexy.
The more emotional the words, the better visuals associated with it.
However, we could also imbed images for words that are really specific:
Supple (to refer to leather), comfortable (dual zone climate control), boss (alloy wheels, leather trim on doors and shift nob) entertained (Sirius/XM radio) deaf (8 speakers), etc.
We could also imbed Easter egg words so when someone does a visual search on “behind the scenes” they will see images from the making of the Infiniti Q50 TV commercial.
